Day 23

Today has been a busy day! Like usual by this time of night, I am more than ready to crash into my bed and relax. Today was picture day at the babies' school. I had them dressed in coordinating outfits because they do siblings together. Of course today was a monsoon for weather, and Jack fell in the parking lot on the way in, soaking his shorts. I'm pretty sure he is probably wearing sweats in his school picture, oh well! Here are some pictures I took of them after they got ready. You can tell they are sill sleepy. These were taken around 6:00AM. Yes, I have early risers!!

After school, we went out to dinner with friends that we hadn't seen in a while. We enjoyed catching up!

And I thought this was such a good picture, so I stole it off Courtney's facebook.

I didn't take any pictures with my camera today, but these are just from my phone.

A funny conversation I overhead Jack having with his teddy bear tonight:
"You are in time out. NO PUSHING! Got it? We do NOT push. Are you sorry? Say you are sorry. Okay, now give me a hug. We do NOT push!"

Day 22

FINALLY!!! We got it on camera. Excuse Jack having a tantrum in the background and Gracie's messy face - full of broccoli and mac and cheese.

We just got back from Grace's 1 year well visit. They didn't record down her weight and height, so I don't have the exact numbers. Her weight was 18 lbs. 6 oz. I'm pretty sure. She was in the 25th percentile for weight, and 50th for height. Both kids got a shot that they weren't too happy about! Jack is almost fully immunized, just one more shot for him in a few months.

Day 21

I took some videos last night just of our nightly playtime routine after baths. Just a glimpse into our house. Gracie is becoming quite mischievous as you can see!

Last night we were playing, and Jack said, "Mommy, this is my favorite. It's a triangle. It has three sides." Pretty sure I have Barney to thank for that one. Luckily I had my camera, and he repeated it.

Day 20

Jack's soccer was supposed to start tonight, but I'm making the safe assumption that it's been canceled. It hasn't stopped raining all day. I'm a little disappointed. We were really looking forward to it, but I think Colin is happy because he won't miss the first one (he's working). So we will go next Monday. Last night we dressed him in his soccer gear and took some pictures.













Mike came over for dinner last night. Here are the kids posing with the gifts that he got them for each of their first birthdays.

Day 19

We got home safely last night around 9:45 PM after a day of traveling. We all slept great in our own beds last night. Today we are spending the day cleaning, doing laundry, unpacking, cleaning the car, etc. Here are some pictures of the exterior of the new van.

We got Roi shaved while we were away. He looks great, and I'm looking forward to a lot less fur shedding around here. He won't really pose for a picture...

And I can't leave a post with no pictures of the babies, so here you go...their favorite parts of the Children's Museum!

Gracie loved the sand table! She could just barely reach, but this kept her occupied for quite a while!

Of all things, I think Jack's favorite part (at least the part that kept his attention the longest) was this Thomas the Train table.

Day 18

We are just passing into the Georgia border. All I have to say at the moment is thank God for the modern technology of having a DVD player in the van, Barney, and Baby Einstein. We left Lafayette at the dark, cold (27 degrees) and early hour of 5:15 this morning. Sad, sad, sad to leave and head back to reality. So far the babes are being great little travelers for us again.

Day 17

A sweet moment with Papa tonight.

Jack enjoying the bungie trampoline at the mall. He loved it once he finally gathered the courage to do it. He was shouting, "to infinity and beyond!!"


We ran around town shopping for soccer gear for Jack. His first practice is on Monday.


Jack and Paige relaxing together. We spent some time at their house this morning. Jack keeps telling us, "I wanna go play at Katweena's house now."

Today we had lunch at Pizza King. On the way there, Colin was explaining to Jack (the picky eater) that pizza is just cheese and bread. Jack said, "No it's not, Colin. I don't wike it, Colin." I was laughing, but it bothers Colin that he calls him that.

When we were driving, I asked Jack what Grace was doing. He replied, "her's a bein a good girl. Mimi's so proud of you." (Think he's heard that line much?)

He's starting to comprehend the plot of the movies that he watches. Right now he is into the movie Monsters, Inc. One part at the beginning he just dies laughing.

Grace fell asleep on her way home from the museum yesterday. Therefore she wasn't ready for bed at the normal time. She got to stay up late when Jack was in bed last night. She was so happy. We could tell she thought she was hot stuff! She was running around like she owned the place.

She can point to her nose, ears, and blink her eyes on demand, when she feels like it. She shakes her head 'yes' and 'no' on demand. She will hold up one finger when you tell her to say, "I'm one". Her personality is coming through more and more.

When we get back into our daily grind and routine I'm going to get her off the bottle. She's completely finished with formula, but still enjoys her morning and evening bottle.

We have a big day of travels tomorrow. Sad to be leaving, but we've had a great week and I'm very thankful for that. Hope everyone enjoys the weekend. :-)

Day 16

It is so much easier to navigate the blog with my computer at home since I'm used to it. I'll post LOTS of pictures when we get back. Today we spent the day in Indianapolis at the Children's Museum. Lots of fun and lots of pictures to prove it! However, today I'm going to post pictures that were taken by Bev yesterday. We had several successful shoots. Love the pictures that we got. Grace was pretty cooperative, and we got some great smiles from her. Jack was less than cooperative, but we still ended up with a handful of excellent pictures of him. A HUGE thanks to Bev!!!

Day 15

On this day one year ago, we welcomed the sweetest, most precious little girl into our family. Happy 1st Birthday Sweet Baby Grace Elizabeth!!! You have blessed our lives in more ways than you will ever know. When we return to FL, I will do a "looking back" post of one picture taken on the 23rd of each month of her life.

Day 14

I'm not going to get to the computer again tonight, so just iPhone pictures. Today we had more running around town, picked up my mom for lunch, went to Budgie's, went to Paige's 3rd birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese, and we are currently sitting around the fire.


This was his favorite arcade game at Chuck E. Cheese.


He loved putting the tokens in the games.
