Ladies and Gentlemen... We have a (see below)!!!!!

It's a boy!!! We were so excited to finally learn the sex of our baby. Everything looks great so far! We got to see baby Jack move all around, yawn, swallow, and rub his face with his little hands. It was so cute! I measured 3 days ahead of my original due date, but she said that they wouldn't officially change the due date. The ultrasound took about an hour. Once it was over we went to celebrate at the Cheesecake Factory and then went and bought a boy outfit at Baby Gap.  We couldn't be happier. :)

16 Weeks

16 weeks, 1 day

I'm in the 16th week and feeling pretty good overall. As you can probably see, I'm beginning to grow quite a bit. I'm seeing numbers on the scale that I've never even dreamed about seeing!!!!!! All was well at the doctor's appointment yesterday. His/her little heart was beating at a healthy 135 bpm. On Monday I get to make the appointment to go to the hospital to get the full anatomy ultrasound of our little one. They said it could be anywhere from the 18th - 22nd week, so I'm going to attempt to make it for that Tuesday (7/29), the day it turns 18 weeks! During that u/s is when we can request to find out the gender. I would consider both Colin and I to be pretty patient people about most things, but we are the least patient people on the planet about finding out the gender of our baby!!! We really can't wait for that so that we can start preparing and planning. Neither of us really has a feeling or a preference about what it is. We just want to know...NOW! 

Yesterday we put new ceiling fans in both of the guest rooms and then we put a white wooden closet organizer in the one that will be the baby's room. I use the word 'we' very loosely. I sat in the room and handed Colin the tools and supplies he needed. You'll see both pink and blue in that closet right now -- a first hand example of our lack of patience (and my mom's)! The cubs attire we found on clearance at the Toys R Us in Lafayette. There was a little firefighter onesie, blanket, and socks that we got on clearance at Gymboree. Then there are 2 boy and 2 girl outfits that my mom got at the Carters outlet store. You can't pass up deals like that. :)

This is the style of fan we chose. They are the same for both guest bedrooms. The brushed nickel matches the door handles and hinges. They look really good!

There is also a shelf going across the top for storage that you can't see in the picture. We are going to get a slide in basket for each of those smaller shelves too.

Happy Birthday, Colin!!

I just wanted to wish Colin a very happy 28th (!!!!) birthday today! I'm so incredibly thankful for being blessed to have found a wonderful, loving, hard working, respectful guy who I get to spend the rest of my life with. In addition to all of those qualities, he has me laughing constantly!!! We are going to go out to dinner tonight to celebrate. Should be fun! Happy Birthday! :)

Courtney's visit

My sister came back with us when we returned home from our midwest trip. We had such a great time with her here! The first day she was here we headed over to Tampa for the DMB concert. It was so great as usual! We took her to see Roi's puppies one day, which she loved. We had lots of Gilmore Girl watching marathons (Thanks, Shannon for letting me borrow your DVDs!). We went shopping a couple times and out to eat a few times too. We had planned on going to Sea World on Monday, but Sunday night we ended up at urgent care for a bug bite looking bump on her leg that had gotten infected. She was in a lot of pain, and her whole leg was throbbing. She couldn't walk without limping. The doctor gave her some antibiotics and we headed home hoping that it would get better. It progressively got worse as the night went on, so we opted out of going to Sea World so that she could stay off her feet with her leg propped up all day. She stayed in the recliner the entire day watching Gilmore Girls. By Tuesday morning she really wanted to go to Sea World, so off we went. She looooooved it so much there, but midway through our trip her entire ankle swelled up and the infection looked like a golf ball was underneath, plus it was rock solid. So we left and went directly back to the doctor. A couple of hours later she was on the bed awaiting a surgery procedure!!! It needed to be cut in to and drained. YUCK!!! She is cracking up in this picture at something Colin was saying - he was trying to keep her mind at ease since she was nervous. He was such a great big brother in law during the procedure. He stayed up at her head, held her hand, and kept her calm. I was way too squeamish, looking out the door the whole time! I could never be in a medical profession.

We then headed to Publix to get her prescriptions filled. The numbing had worn off by this point in time, and she couldn't even walk from the front of Publix where the pharmacy is located, to the curb where Colin had pulled up the truck!! So I got her a motorized cart. hahahah!! We were laughing so hard about that. By the time she woke up this morning, much of the pain was gone and the swelling was down too. So she is on the road to recovery!

She had sort of a dramatic trip, but we still had lots of fun! We miss her already - even Roi! He searched the house for her when I returned home from dropping her off at the airport. Come back soon!!!!!!

This is me and Paige in the boat during the firework show at the lake. She loved them even though we woke her up to take her out! She just laid there and watched them.

Isn't this the most precious thing ever? Colin and I met Katrina and Paige at Don Pablos the day after we arrived in Indiana. He wasn't eating because he was holding out for Jimmy Johns, so he held and fed the baby while Katrina and I chatted and ate. 

Here we are with precious little Paigie who we FINALLY got to meet during our trip! This was our anniversary dinner at La Scala. I promise more updates with pictures to come once things slow down a bit! :) Have a great weekend!

We returned back home late last night, and I'm short on time again. I need to get to the grocery and bank and then we are headed out of town again to Tampa for a Dave concert and some fun. But I just wanted to do a quick post to let you know that I've updated all of our vacation pictures on my flickr account. Click on the little flickr photostream to the right to see them. We had a great time in both Chicago and Lafayette!!! We miss everyone already. More to come soon...

In case you are wondering why we haven't posted anything new in a while, it's because we are enjoying every second we are spending with family and friends. We will update when we return to FL next week. Lots of pictures will be shared! :) Hope all is well!
