We spent some time out back this morning. It's nice that our backyard is completely shaded, so even on days when it is sweltering hot out, we can enjoy some time out there. Jack and Grace both got in the swing and loved it. Jack is pretty much a dare devil and loves to go as high as he can.

Grace was waiting patiently for her turn, dressed in her church clothes (we never made it!).

Once I put her in, she was giggling and having a great time.....

then all of the sudden she got very relaxed and fell asleep.

I left her in the swing and Jack and I just sat out on a chair in the backyard. A bug flew up my nose, so he was laughing about that!

We got the bath seat out from the attic last night, so I decided to try to give both of them a bath together this morning. They both enjoyed it a lot!

Yesterday Gracie was very tired, so I was rocking with her. She kept on sucking her thumb, then she fell asleep on me which I loved! She isn't much of a cuddle-bug, so I take what I can get.

This is our new dinner set-up. Grace will start eating baby food in less than a month. We always have family dinners, but usually she is in the middle of the table in her bumbo chair. Well, now she can scoot around with her little foot while she is in her bumbo, so that's not an option. She gets her own high chair now! While we were cooking, they were both sitting in their high chairs looking at each other and laughing, which was adorable.

My blogging time has been very limited lately. We are in survival mode around here it seems. I'm sure we will continue to get into a routine and things will calm down a bit. Right now it is so crazy and difficult to keep up with home and work. It has gotten easier each day though! Yesterday I had lots of work to do at school, and I managed to get us all ready and out the door by 7 to take the kids to school.

On a great note, I dropped the babies off at school yesterday with no tears from either of them. Jack talks about school on the days where he is at home, so I know he has a great time. Makes for a much better day for me when I don't have to walk out of his classroom with him screaming MOMMMMMMMA! When I went to pick them up, his class was all sitting nicely around the table eating a snack. On our way out the door, Jack waved and announced, "bye, bye school!".

Gracie got shots this week, and she weighed 14 lbs. She still is so long and skinny. She is pushing up on her arms and seems to be really interested in going. I think she will be scooting around before long. She rolls over and over to move across the room. When I got her out of her crib this morning, her head was on the opposite end from where I laid her down at night. I think she is officially a belly sleeper now. She laughs and smiles all the time and is such a happy girl. She especially loves big brother. He makes her laugh by just looking at her! She is drooling up a storm, so I'm thinking she might be teething. Or maybe she is just a drooler like Jack was. He just recently stopped soaking shirts with drool!

So thankful for the weekend!!!

Here are a couple of pictures I took of the babies today. It is 3:00, and I have showered, but changed right back into my pajamas. This week wore me out! I'm enjoying spending the whole day with Jack and Gracie today. :) Gracie got her first pony tail too! How I've missed putting bows in her hair this week! I also figured I would dress her in this Cubs outfit before football season gets going. It was Jack's, but he never got a chance to wear it!

We went outside briefly this morning. Had to come in after 15 minutes or so because it was so hot. Grace absolutely loved being in the swing!!

Jack does too, but that isn't new news!

He is a challenge when it comes to getting him to smile for pictures. Gracie usually will laugh at whatever I do, but oftentimes I just get that stare from him!

And this is one of Jack's favorite things to do these days. He enjoys gathering these toys and arranging and rearranging them. He is so serious about it and just studies them until it meets his expectations.

Shower

We all all adjusting to our new normal around here. I'm super busy trying to get my classroom set up and ready for students on Monday. I missed everyone SO much on Monday. Although, I must admit that it was nice to be back with my wonderful team and have some adult interaction. Today Colin brought the babies up to see me and he helped me with a couple of things in my classroom. Tomorrow will be my first morning alone taking the babies to school. We bought Jack a monkey leash so that I can get them both in the school from the car in the morning safely. I'll have to get a picture of that! I'm a little (okay, a lot) nervous about the drop off tomorrow. Last week was rough, and that is a complete understatement! I'm hoping and praying that Jack gets used to going and doesn't completely meltdown everyday when I drop him off. I'm off to bed before 9! Managing work and home is quite the adjustment. There aren't enough hours in the day to do both effectively! Leaving you with just one picture...Gracie's first shower!

Jack was giving me a run for the money the other day when Colin was working. First he was eating a lot of oatmeal, which is great. But then apparently he got a bit too full and decided to start flinging it all over the kitchen when I was tending to Grace. He's really smart and knows exactly when to start misbehaving. Check out Roi's back!

Then, as we always do after dinner, it was time to bathe the kids. I was sitting on the counter in the bathroom feeding Gracie when he decided to start filling up a huge cup (the one they gave me in the hospital when I had Gracie), and dumping it out of the tub. I kept telling him to stop. I couldn't really get up to stop the behavior since Grace was eating. So he just looked at me and continued to dump about 5 cupfuls onto the bathroom floor. I think God was trying to make it easier for me to go back to school LOL!!!

I absolutely love these name labels for bottles and cups. Jessica told me about them when she saw another kid at her kids' school that had them. We've tried permanent markers, which come off in one dishwashing. We've tried label makers, but they eventually come off as well. This is like a tight band that has their name. LOVE it!

Colin got these matching Purdue shirts when we were in Lafayette earlier this month. Now I need to get one that matches Grace's pink and white Purdue shirt!

Still loving the flower bands!!! She really enjoys sitting in her Bumbo chair. We sit her in it in the middle of the kitchen table as our center piece during dinner. Also, today she started sitting up on her own for a few seconds with her hands down on the floor for support. Such a big girl!
My mom said he looks like he should be holding a tennis racket and heading to the country club.
Every time we lay Grace down, she flips over to her belly. Lately she has really been pushing her arms up. I think she is very motivated to MOVE!

And now I must force myself to go to bed. It's going to be a much different morning tomorrow as I return to work. :( Pray for me as I hate to spend my days anywhere but with my babies! uhhhh. I CAN DO THIS!!!
