The truth is showing. I just can't find the time to keep up with this blog. Jack went down for a nap, so I took Gracie out for a photo shoot in the front yard. I tried coming inside to upload pictures and the blog, but she started fussing. I didn't want her to wake up Jack, so we went back outside. I came in to put her down, and then Jack woke up. So I'm currently typing this with a grumpy Jack on my lap with one hand. Everything is great. Things around here are a bit crazy but so much fun with the two babies.
Both babies got shots yesterday. It was Grace's first. They both did great and didn't really have any side effects from the shots. I had a dentist appointment right by their doctor's office after the shots. We had an hour to kill, so we took them to the park. I got some good pictures of Jack.
Gracie is getting big and the days are going by so quickly. She has been throwing up entire feedings more frequently these days. She has always done this, but lately it seems like it is once every day or two. I took her to the pediatrician last Friday to make sure it wasn't something serious. She is growing, gaining weight, and thriving, so there are no concerns. At that point she weighed in at 9 lbs. 12 oz. Today I went to a "Mom's Morning Out" at the hospital where I had both babies. They have a baby scale there, so I weighed her to see if she had gained since Friday. She was up to 10 lbs. 1 oz., and that was before she got fed. The lactation consultant at the hospital said it could be that she has a touch of reflux and that her system isn't mature enough to handle all the milk that she is taking in. She said that she will probably outgrow it and not to be concerned. Besides that she is a super baby! Sleeps and eats like a champ. Everywhere we go people comment on her long, wild hair. She has such neck strength and can hold her head up for long periods of time. Her legs are getting stronger and stronger all the time too. She can support herself with you holding onto her trunk. She smiles quite a bit too. She is just so sweet!!
Jack is doing great and learning so much everyday. The other day he fell out of Grace's baby swing and was crying. I picked him up and he saw a picture of him and my dad. He immediately stopped crying and whispered, "papa" with a big smile on his face. He tries to repeat all kinds of words and is finally starting to understand that he needs to say 'please' after he says 'more'. For a couple of weeks now he has been babbling like crazy. He thinks he is carrying on a conversation. He just chats away! He absolutely loves being outside. Dada is his best buddy and the louder and the rougher, the better! He asks for him when he is at work, and sprints to the door when I tell him that dada is home. He loves being in the bath tub and kicking and swimming. We will have to get another baby pool soon for him to play in. He loves his fruits, dairy, and grains, but will not eat a single vegetable or meat (besides bacon). We have tried tricking him, but no luck. He can be mischievous and loves to test us. Now, any experienced moms of toddlers... This kid will tear through the house and make a mess ALL DAY. I'm talking emptying kitchen drawers, emptying cabinets where we have forgotten a baby lock, swiping anything laying out... You name it. This house can go from perfectly clean and tidy to looking like a tornado hit in zero point five seconds! Even things that are high up! He has discovered that by emptying a basket or trash can and flipping it over, makes a perfect step stool! Colin thinks we should put up baby gates to confine him to certain areas, but I feel bad doing that because he is so energetic and loves to run around! Something needs to be done though! We are going crazy picking up constantly. Neither of us can stand the clutter, so leaving it out to pick up at the end of the day is not an option!
Also, my blog still isn't fixed. When I upload pictures, it's just a bunch of coding until I hit publish. So I have no clue what pictures are where. That's why I don't have captions with them and they aren't organized. They are just all chunked at the beginning of the post. Darn - how can I fix it!?!? Oh well, at least the pictures are there, right?
