You read that right. It's not a typo. 4:53 AM is when we started our day today.
Well, friends...we (and when I say we, I mean Jack) need an intervention.
(Excuse my sniffles in the background, as I've caught an annoying cold.)
That's all I'm going to say today. I'm too tired to form coherent sentences.

Day 6: Presidents' Day
Well...I'm going to have to say Presidents' Day just went down as my new all time favorite holiday!!! My school was closed, but the kids' preschool wasn't.
A DAY TO MYSELF?!?!?!
I have to admit that I spoiled myself today. I dropped the kiddos off at school, went to the gym, sat in Starbucks ALONE, shopped at Target in peace, I got a mani/pedi with a friend, using a gift card I got from a student for Christmas.

I shopped a little, and bought myself a new purse.

I met a friend for lunch at Panera. I went to donate blood, but the place was closed so I'll have to go back one day this week. I grocery shopped alone. And now I'm sitting in a quiet house for one more hour before I pick them up. I think this will become a new annual tradition.
I definitely cherish every moment I get to spend with my kids, but this break was just what I needed!
Of course I won't sign off without posting what everyone comes here for...

Day 5: School
Most of you have probably heard me complain about how sending 3 to preschool at once is a huge, mammoth-sized financial burden for us right now. We do, however, realize that the cost is worth it, as our babies are learning a ton, socializing, and having structure while they are there. They go to Spanish, gym, chapel...you name it. Their teachers are loving and amazing, and we have always been very happy with Children of Promise.
We will start to see $$ dollar signs $$, as Jack will start all day VPK next January at Lost Lake (my school). The following year Grace will start, then Erin...all consecutively.
Here are the kids' class pictures this year. Jack's best buddy is James (top left). Gracie's BFF wasn't there that day, but her name is Gianna. I'm not sure whose Erin's is, but she says Eli's name clear as day! :)

Day 4: Tubes
Baby Erin got tubes in her ears on 2/7. She was a champ! First of all, her surgery wasn't until noon, and she couldn't have anything to eat or drink for the twelve hours prior. She cried for a banana once in the morning because she saw the others eating one, but other than that...not a peep.
I had only taken a 1/2 day off from work, so Colin had to have her there by 10, and I met them at 11. When I told the receptionist who I was, she called back to the nurse. The nurse brought Erin out, and she about leapt out of her arms towards me with a huge smile. She was so happy to see momma, and it was so sweet.
Colin timed them from the time they took her back until the ENT doctor came to get us, saying she was done. I think he said it was six minutes total. 6 grueling minutes, mind you...but could be much worse! I was home by 1. Very quick!!!
The doctor said he drained rubber cement-like consistency fluid from both ears. It was done at the Children's Surgery Center, which we found to be a lot faster and easier than the hospital. It was a breeze! And we know from past experience, they are worth it.
Jack screamed for a good hour upon waking up from surgery. Grace was just whimpering, but definitely not happy. They tell you that it will be likely that they are not happy afterwards. Not due to pain, but because they just don't like the drowsy feeling from the anesthesia. Not Erin! She slept, drank some juice, slept some more, ate some lunch, had a bath, took her normal nap, and business as usual! She's feeling great and is as cute, funny, and sweet as ever! Love that baby girl so much!

Day 3: Disney Cruise

As a Christmas gift, Colin's parents took the entire family on a Disney cruise. We all had a lot of fun, and it went by very fast. I would recommend a Disney cruise over a family vacation to the parks ANY DAY (and that's coming from a huge fan of all Disney parks!). Everything about it, from the food to the service to the cleanliness is outstanding. There is something for all ages to enjoy.
The kids were enthralled with all the fun activities that catered to them. Jack and Grace spent a lot of time in the Oceaneer's Club. They had every fun activity you could think of for the kids - baking, pajama parties, parades, characters, computers, dress up...everything! The day we were at Disney's private island, the kids spent the day at the beach with them. They had a section blocked off and secured for the kids with sand castle making, water, dancing...again, everything a kid could want. Erin went to the nursery quite a bit, too. We got an envelope with pictures of her with Sleeping Beauty and tons of little crafts they did with her.
They lacked sleep in a major way, causing Colin and me to be embarrassed by their poor behavior and table manners. The picture below of G sleeping on the couch occurred within an hour of being home. And for those who don't know my kids, they do not willingly fall asleep. Sleep is not something they enjoy. So you know she was exhausted! But FUN was definitely had by all. We are thankful for the great memories. I didn't take as many pictures as I would've liked to, but here are the ones I did take:
