Finally - that smile I've been talkin' about!

This morning I wanted to get some things done around the house, so I put Jack on his back time activity mat. He was having a great time, so I decided to play around with the camera. I think I got some good shots! He kicks and punches while he watches the toy light up and listens to the music. 

He is doing good sleeping for the most part. He usually sleeps from about 9-2 for the first stretch, and then he is up every 3 hours or so after that. When we can get five whole hours of consecutive sleep, we are HAPPY! I'm loving my time home with him. I could totally be a stay at home mom!! :) 

I'm off to take a shower while the little guy is napping! Enjoy the pictures.

Pictures

This isn't the greatest picture, but I had to document his first trip to the fire station!! They had both just woken up from a nap. Colin was super tired that day!

All strapped in to my car seat. Ready to go have lunch on the lake at the Tiki Bar. It is 75 and sunny today. Soooo nice! I wanted to get pictures of him by the lake, but he never woke up!

I'm still working on getting a picture of his huge gummy smile. It happens often, but I never have the camera ready! He seems like such a happy little guy.

To the grandparents - I'm going to start uploading the pictures that we take with the good camera on  to flickr (on the sidebar of the blog). I think you can order the pictures from there. The ones I email on a whim are usually just taken with my iPhone, and I don't think the quality is the greatest when you print them off. 

These are pictures that I took at a dodge ball tournament that Colin played in tonight. Jack and I tagged along for support, and as you can see, he slept through most of it. It was so noisy in there with whistles and people cheering, but it didn't phase him. The last picture of me holding him was how he was for the first hour or so. Once he fell asleep, he slept in his car seat until we got home.  I also stuck a picture in there from bath time again. He is still smiling quite a bit, but I haven't managed to get a picture yet. He also is really starting to follow people and things with his eyes. I had him in my lap, and Colin walked by. He turned his entire neck to watch him go by. Hopefully things are great with everyone. 3 Weeks Old!

I love to look at my Baby Einstein aquarium while I'm getting changed. Thanks, Great Aunt Judy!

Jack continues to be so much fun. His newest accomplishment is smiling. Yesterday Colin was carrying him around and he kissed him on the lips. When he did that, Jack opened his mouth up and then smiled the biggest gummy grin. So cute! Then he continued doing it several times for the rest of the day. I'm going to try to get a picture of it today!

Bed Time Prayers

Happy Baby :)

He loves being on his back during "awake time". Two nights ago we decided to make the switch from him sleeping in his baby papasan at our bedside... into his crib in his own room. He did SO great last night, which made me feel like a new woman. I actually got 3 consecutive hours of sleep in between each feeding. He went down in his crib without fussing every time I put him back in after he ate. I'm hoping that trend continues!!! It was so wonderful. 

Baby Bath Time

We were able to give Jack his first real bath now that the rest of his umbilical cord fell out. Before we were having to give him sponge baths in the sink. He LOVES it!!!

Baby Update

Both sets of grandparents are back in the midwest, and we are on our own now. :) I'm pretty sure they all fell in love with little Jack immediately! He is still doing great. Every day we notice him getting stronger and stronger. The other day he was batting at a cardinal that was hanging down on his floor activity mat. He can hold his head up steady for longer periods of time now. He also is getting really good at making eye contact, and he acts like he is really listening to you. He loves bath time, and doesn't enjoy getting out of the water (I think because he gets cold). He has been on a few outings, and he does really well. He's been out to dinner twice, to the mall twice, to Costco, and to Walmart and the grocery store too. He also enjoys stroller walks and being outdoors. He had his 2 week well baby check up yesterday, and everything looked healthy. He now weighs 11 lbs. 7 oz., and is 22 1/2 inches long. We felt good leaving there, knowing that we are helping our precious little one grow and develop. He did great at the doctor's office. He just laid there and let the doctor check him out. We continue to enjoy and love every minute of him, even the late night feedings! We are just loving him to pieces.
