It is currently 12:12AM. I was awoken by the noise of the midnight Saturday night firework show coming from Downtown Disney. I had finally dozed off after the 625th time of getting up to go to the bathroom!!!! uhhhhhhhh

Sorry for another lack of updates this week. Not too much new around here. Colin headed back to work today. I have some errands and cleaning to do. Tonight I'm going to a benefit for the family of a boy in my class who lost his mom to cancer a couple of weeks ago.

I've been so darn tired and going to bed around 8:30 every evening! Other than the extreme fatigue, I can't really complain. I've had very minimal nausea and my skin is going a little crazy. Colin has been keeping up with my usual chores around the house. Well, except for the laundry. This is what I started last night:

I finished 1 load, so I have the rest of it to do today. Boo!

My aunt Judy was in Florida on business and stopped by for one night this week. We had a nice time with her. We had dinner at Carrabba's and then sat outside on the screened-in porch. She left early the next morning for Miami. I didn't take any pictures, unfortunately.

We Colin also painted the office this week. It is just a white color. You may remember the previous brown that we painted it when we first moved in:

Well, the room doesn't get much light. There isn't any overhead lighting, so there is just the lamp that you see to the left of the desk. It is bright and sunny in there in the mornings, but the afternoon and evening sun is on the other side of the house, leaving the room to be like a bat cave. So while I loved the color that it was before, it just was just too dark given the circumstances. So we are much happier with the new, brighter office:

In other news, Katrina started a new blog for pictures of Paige. Jessie has a post up about their new daughter, Taytum. Congratulations Jessie, Kyle, and Kyla!

Roi's going to be a big brother!

We just wanted to update everyone on our big news. On Friday afternoon, during the Cubs game, we were very excited to learn that we will be expecting a sweet addition to our family!!!  I don't go to the doctor until May 6, so we hope and pray that all is well. That said, we are simply too excited to keep this a secret for the first three months, like they sometimes tell you to do. Using a due date calculator, I think we should be welcoming our new little one any time between Dec. 24 and Jan. 4. We decided shortly after we got married that we weren't going to try to plan it out. We just trusted that it would happen when it was meant to happen, and apparently now is the time. :)  Colin added a fun poll for everyone over to the right, so please participate.  We will be sure to keep everyone updated on any news.

Fixed

We finally have our computer back. It has been at the Apple store for several days getting repaired. I'm on my way out the door to go to church, but I will post a couple of times this week. We've had a super weekend!!! :) Keep in touch.

One thing is for sure about Colin and me. When we are bored, we know how to keep ourselves entertained. I was laying on the couch the other evening when Colin bolted out of the office and did this:

Imagine him doing this while shouting, "I'm Shaq!" I got a good laugh out of it. I love how Roi tried to imitate him jumping up!

Turns out not where but who you're with that really matters...

Once again, my blog has been abandoned! This week was really busy - I had things to do after school every day. Today we finally had the day off together to get things done around here. I really didn't (and still don't) have any exciting blogging material either! So I'll write about something that I'm really looking forward to.

Every year Colin and I always go to as many Dave Matthews concerts as we possibly can. We are both fanatics, and we would be perfectly content listening to nothing but his music. Colin can play about any Dave song on his guitar. We have been going to multiple concerts every summer for years. Trust me - We love the guy. This summer we will be leaving from our trip up north right as Dave comes to do his Indy concerts, so we are going to miss out on those. But! We will be going to one in Tampa on July 9th. Then the weekend after that we are heading to West Palm Beach to see him again. My sister is going to make the trek back from the midwest with us to stay at our house for the week and attend the concerts. Should be lots of fun and excitement!

Since I wrote about her and because I really miss her (plus I can't find any pictures of Courtney and me at a DMB concert), this picture was taken at Christmastime. We went to Indy to see her new apartment.

Fun Times

Sorry for the lack of updates this week. I haven't taken the time to sit and blog. I've had a phenomenal Spring Break. Be warned, this post is going to have lots of pictures. Colin and I picked up my parents from the airport on Tuesday evening. Since then, we've been busy busy busy. When they got here we ended up going straight back to our house. We grilled out and hung out at home for the rest of the night. 

On Wednesday Colin had to work so we went to this place called The Villages. Someone on the airplane down here had told my parents about it, so they wanted to go explore. Its a little less than an hour straight north of our house. It was like a retirement village, but it is pretty much its own little town. We just walked around, had lunch at a Mexican restaurant, and then went to the town square party (haha). They had live music, vendors, and country line dancing. It was quite funny to see all the old people dancing. We sat on the bench that you see in the pictures and did lots of people watching as well. It was funny.

The next day (Thursday) when Colin got home, we all went and rented a pontoon boat. The marina was literally 2 minutes down the road from our house. It was such a nice day out, and everyone had a great time. We cruised around the chain of lakes and enjoyed the sunshine. It was super!

We docked at the Tikki Bar for lunch, which is always fun. The first picture is a little dark. We asked a random person to take it, so what can ya do?

We then got in the boat and headed back towards the marina. We had to get the boat back by a certain time, otherwise we would've stayed out on the water longer. 

Colin got tired of being the captain, so some others took a turn driving.

I enjoyed driving the boat, but then I chickened out when a bridge came up and I was expected to go in between 2 pillars...plus there were 2 fishermen standing there. I complained and complained, but Colin still wouldn't take the wheel. So I stopped the boat. He STILL didn't come relieve me from the driver's seat!!! He said, "Mel, if you can drive the boat under the bridge, I will tell people that you officially know how to drive a boat." The bribery didn't work, and I am nothing if not stubborn PLUS I was too nervous! So...

He took over. Colin and I went to the front of the boat and enjoyed the ride.

And then that same person tried to take her own picture. 

We took the boat back and then returned home. It ended up being a fantastic day. Everyone had a blast!

The next day we had planned on going to Venice. We woke up fairly early and took off for the 2 hour drive. The first thing we did was head to the dog beach. Roi had a lovely time playing with all of the other dogs. He is such a social guy. He would play with one dog for a couple of minutes and then sprint to the other end of the dog beach to play with another. He really prefers playing with the smaller dogs, but he will interact with any dog. AND...he finally got in the water! I was such a proud mama. The last couple of times that we have been there, he has been too scared to enter the ocean. This time he went in pretty far out. Each time he ran from one end of the dog beach to the other, he would run along the shore in the water. Its really funny because every time we take Roi to a dog park, he ignores us. He is like a teenager who is embarrassed to be with his parents. He will trot right past us as we shout his name, but not turn his head to acknowledge. He will just keep going. So we saw a lot of this:

We spent a couple of hours there. Roi had a ball, and he was absolutely worn out by the time we left. We actually stayed there until Colin and I were starving. Our blood sugar was taking a downward spiral, and when that happens to *both* of us at the same time, it isn't a pretty thing!!! 

So we left to go have lunch at Sharky's, which is always promises to be fun. After we ate we walked out on the pier. We saw a few dolphins and a sting ray out there.

We left there and got the infamous orange ice cream on our way home. 

Today Colin had to go back to work. This morning the three of us went to an open house in my neighborhood for a house that is up for auction. Ever since, I've been begging them to buy it for a winter home! My mom and I went shopping for a few hours of the day. We got stuck outside in a huge parking lot in the middle of a down pour. Needless to say, we got soaked from head to toe. We got home and made tacos for dinner. After dinner, we made iced sugar cookies. My dad has been on the couch watching the Final Four and everything leading up to it all day. We don't have anything planned for tomorrow, but it is pretty much their last day here. They leave Monday, but I will be back to work by then. Colin will drive them to the airport and see them off. It has been a successful trip!
